The article discusses the basic principles of Brazil’s new law on public procurement, including the principles of legality, anonymity, morality, publicity, efficiency, public interest, administrative integrity, equality, motivation, compliance with tender documentation, objectivity of decisions, legal certainty, reasonableness, competitiveness, proportionality, efficiency, planning, transparency, efficiency, separation of functions, cost-effectiveness, and sustainable national development. The authors give an overall assessment of Brazil’s new law on public procurement.
